Well, so much southern stuffs to listen to at the moment. For exemple... “Rebel Pride”: not only they were recently satisfied to let a very good album come out, but also they set it almost immediatly again, with a “Tribute” to Toby Keith. For sure, these guys are brilliant ! What can I say about this album? That I listened to it, of course, and also that I appreciated it well... I think you’re now a little enlightened, no? All right, you need more? Well, I’m going it... So, I think that the “Rebel Pride”’s boys must appreciate the Country Man Toby Keith... Here is the information. Well, I know, I ought to say more, but what could I say, except that it’s really well done ? 11 country-rock titles, more often rock than country, that the Tampa’s Southern Rockers revisited so great! That’s all, folks... Except that it’s perhaps the ideal CD to take away in holidays! Walkman on the beach!

Their first CD was well received in the Southern Rock world, and now the new Rebel Pride record "Backin' It Up" is at the same level. I know I didn't really enjoy their last "It is What It Is" in 2006, as I thought the Rock, Blues and Country styles mix was not so good, I must confess that today we have something really better on the musical identity of the band, and I think that Rebel Pride is one of the today's best Southern Rock bands ! First, on "Domino Boogie", we enter directly in the music, what a hit! It's not so common to find such a good song at the album beginning, it is usually at the end we find so many guitars riffs that offer Tom Spittle and Brian Jeffries today. And there obviously is Pat Buffo voice that reminds us the great and not forgotten Danny Joe Brown. I know Pat doesn't want to copy DJB, but he sure will understand how pleasant is for us this kind of warm voice that fits so well to Southern Rock n' Roll. A little bit of Country Rock on "Flatlands", a real Rebel Pride song. There are two nice and beautiful Southern ballads, "Long Distance Affair" and "Take It Slow", and all the rest is heavy Rock n' Roll, just like was Molly Hatchet before, with great guitar choruses. So, here is the new Rebel Pride! It's impossible not to enjoy such a good album! Only one regret… only 8 songs!! It's not enough when it's so good!!

It is what it is

Musicians:

Pat Buffo, Lead Vocals, Guitars, Drums , Tom Spittle, Lead Guitars, Brian Jeffries, Lead Guitars, Dave Stevenson, Bass,
Francis Harlan, Drums

Titles :

1 Stomp Yer Foots 2 GITITON 3 Tampa Bay Worksong 4 Gettin' Closer 5 Slippin' Away 6 The Hard Way 7 Drop The Ball 8 Survive

Coming from Tampa Bay 'Florida Guitar Army Rock', Rebel Pride shows a Southern Rock with many different influences (Rock, Country, Blues…), and contrary to the famous Outlaws (from the same town), they don't have a special and particular musical identity. Whatever it is, music is good and we do enjoy this traditional Southern-hard-Country-Blues cocktail. At the first listening ('Stomps Yer Foots'),
Pat Buffo voice (drums and vocals) reminds us Danny Joe Brown on Sweet Dixie for instance. On this record, I prefer 'Getting Closer'
close to Molly Hatchet first album with nice Tom Spittle and Brian Jeffries' guitars theme and choruses. So if Rebel Pride is not yet at the top of Southern Rock music, this band is incontestably on the way to the success, so let's get patient !!
