SCREAMIN' CHEETAH WHEELIES
Ten Miles High
(Mean It ! â€" 2005 )

Musicians:
Steve Burgess, Mike Farris, Terry Thomas, Bobby Watkins
& Rick White
Titles :
1 Love Is The Color - 2 Move It Over - 3 Listen To The World Cry - 4 For My Friends

Since the beginning of the 90s is present a new musical way, close to Southern Rock, with some bands that got the Allman Brothers groove, with some soul, funk and blues, more than Lynyrd Skynyrd rock. In this new tendency, we can find Allgood, the Renegade Saints, Sweet Vine and obviously the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies. This EP single -in June 2005 we've heard that Mike Farris is no more in the band- gives us the proof of a wonderful power and talent, with songs such as "Move it Over" and "For my Friends". They really get the Allman feelings, with great and moving guitar riffs, two good guitar players Bobby Watkins and Rick White, and Mike Farris' last appearance. It is just an EP single cd, but I think you have to get it as soon as possible.

Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, far away from their native land Tennessee, come in New York in 2001 at the legendary Wetlands Preserve concert area. It has been a great idea to keep this show alive on a dvd, even it's an auto production. Mike Farris band is at the top, and there are two great guitarists, Bobby Watkins and Rick White. And this bad boy Mike Farris, who looks like a Emmet Grogan novel character, is going to show you his capacities and to prove that he is a real frontman. He looks like Mike Jagger when he jumps on stage. His soul voice is a delight on the 21 songs from this concert, most of them coming from the cd Big Wheel with the unforgettable Hello from Venus, Ride the Ride, Shakin' the Blues, and a cover from Elmore James' Done Somebody Wrong, played like the Allman with Joe Bonamassa as a guest, as he is too on Howlin' Wolf's Killing Floor. There is another cover, Jimi Hendrix' Foxy Lady, and at the end of the show Mike Farris sings a cappela Amazing Grace. One word : Giant ! You have to get this dvd, this group is getting better and better.

The "LaManaManumi" is the european release of the live album "Shakin' the blues", you won't get any extra songs, or any bonus, you'll get exactly the same tracks. The only noticeable difference is the order the tracks are presented. With that in, mind, for the ones who don't get any of these two albums, that's a great way to discover the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies on stage playing mostly rock tunes with guitars fronting, sometimes a bit too agressive to me. Let's notice three great covers from Dr John, the Motown legend Edwin Starr et the great Joe Cocker.
